my first choice is always by bookmarks. kudos gets you popular fic but bookmarks gets you loved fic.

imma be real ive never had a tiktok rec fic be a top fic for me in any fandom. i think ao3 preferences are genuinely so personal and niche they don't make sense with a tiktok algorithm

main method is 2-3 tags, >15000 words, latest updated, read the first chapter and switch off if its blatant Ai or bad writing method is evil but it works (eventually)
