My husband has slowly stopped trying to tell me to relax about relatives kissing any babies we might have because he’s realized that I can and HAVE cut off people permanently for disrespect. I will not tolerate my boundaries being trodden upon ‘because they’re going to anyway’. Not until after their 100 days party at LEAST.

Literally. It was a rule that my wife and I had for our child being born. Wife’s mom was flying in from another state so we said she couldn’t touch the baby until after a few days. To clean germs off. First thing she did upon baby being born was touch her right on the head. These grandparents forget their places.

I'm so glad my family knows to respect my boundaries, and I know for a fact that my Father-In-Law is going to do the same, because he was/is a doctor, and he was VERY happy to hear about my no kissing the baby rule.

I struggle with this one. When he was only 3 months old, my mother in law kissed him on the lips and I don’t even do that. I told her 4+ times to stop and even found an article for her to read about not kissing babies and she STILL does it on occasion and they wonder why we don’t ask her to babysit EVER.

I completely get that family members need to respect boundaries and at the same time I think kissing your grandchild is fine as long as they aren’t sick or were near anyone that was sick. It’s a natural thing for a grandparent to do out of love.

My mom had him on her lap, playing nursery rhyme/ songs on YouTube. I said ANYTHING but baby shark... the next song she puts on is YOU GUESSED it baby shark. I took him from her and just couldnt understand why "Oh well I thought you didn't want me to play it because YOU didn't like it!" 🤨🙄
