@soheefit: You do not have to lift heavy to grow muscle 📢 💪 (Of course, “heavy” is relative, and you could make the argument that you still want to lift heavy for your given rep range, meaning your last few reps should still be challenging. In the context of this study and video, “heavy” is referring to lifting higher loads for lower reps.) DOI: 10.1113/JP289684
Did that show an all male study again or did i miss read? Any in women?

Key caveat being “untrained participants”.

honestly the only reason I go heavier is because it takes less time to reach failure so I spend less time in the gym haha 😭

The study was on untrained participants, only men in their twenties, who tend to have high levels of testosterone- which helps build muscle. I wouldn’t generalise those results to the general population. More studies need to be done

As a person with chronic conditions this is great news. I’m curious if this was men and women and if it was across ages?

I think it's a great message for people who want to train at home and don't have a big variety of weights to lift

but did their strenght increased the same amount? I imagine if you're doing it for body building reasons then sure, but what else does muscle growth really measure other than volume?

Thank you for this info! What about maintaining the amount of muscle you already have? Is that still a muscle growth mindset?

So the final reps are… heavy?

This is awesome. I'm hypermobile and very afraid of an unintentional move that could throw the weight at me and d1e 🥴

One study does not general advice constitute. It's an indication that this could be true, but I wouldn't read too much into a single study's results.

I always love seeing your videos! I'm back to weight training after 6 years away and I'm loving it. But I have to admit, I love chasing those heavier weights.

Wow that's great news, I'm not able to lift heavy, because of health conditions, so it's nice to hear that I can acheive the same with flower weights.

this is honestly amazing info to have, I generally only want to lift heavy, but some parts are much harder for me to work out, so I could defs use the lighter weight for those other bits. do you know of it has much on calorie intake or is it the same?
