I worked with Cigna/denials/UM for 15 years. You need to create an executive case with Cigna. Call Cigna and say this exactly: “I am requesting an Executive Escalation to the Office of the President for a life-threatening transplant denial.” If unsuccessful call the Cigna national appeals unit. If that fails go directly to MAXIMUS. If that fails, go to the CO Division of Insurance. *** document every single call, date, time, reference number, quick summary of call. ***
