@jayebanksxo: I sat in the car tonight because I wanted to support him, not question him. He said he needed one last conversation with his ex before we step into marriage, and I trusted him enough to let him have that. Watching from the driveway, I saw him hug her, tell her she’d always be his first love, his first everything…and then completely break down when the reality of goodbye hit him. By the time he walked back to the car, he was crying so hard he could barely breathe. And instead of getting upset, all I could feel was compassion. Love isn’t always clean or simple sometimes people have to close old doors before they’re ready to open new ones. I’m just grateful he chose to walk back to me.
