@thepuppyacademy: The First Month of Puppyhood Tip # 6: SESSION LENGTH Longer training sessions ≠ better results. In reality, the opposite is usually true. Young puppies have short attention spans and developing nervous systems. When sessions go on too long, puppies don’t learn more — they get tired, lose focus, get frustrated and overwhelmed. Short, intentional training sessions help puppies stay successful and engaged. For most young pups, around 10–15 minutes is plenty (some need less, some can handle a bit more). The key is ending before they’re exhausted. Puppies learn through repetition over time — not marathon sessions. A few short sessions spread throughout the day will always beat one long session. If your puppy seems distracted or stops listening, that’s often your cue to stop, let them rest, and come back later. Training should leave your puppy feeling confident, not depleted. Consistency > intensity. And small, repeatable sessions are how learning really sticks. 🐶 Save this for your puppy’s first month 🤍 #puppytraining #newpuppy #puppytips #puppyschool #thepuppyacademy
