A light, vanilla-flavored custard perfect for serving alongside warm Tarte Tatin. Ingredients: - 2 cups (480 ml) whole milk - 1 vanilla bean or 1 tablespoon vanilla extract - 4 large egg yolks - 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar - 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thicker consistency) Instructions: 1. Pour the milk into a saucepan and add the vanilla bean split lengthwise if using. Heat until just boiling, then remove from heat and let it infuse for 10 minutes. 2. In a separate bowl, whisk together egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch until smooth. 3. Remove the vanilla bean from the milk, then gradually pour the warm milk into the egg mixture, whisking constantly. 4. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens slightly and reaches 170°F (77°C). Be careful not to boil. 5. Remove from heat and strain through a fine sieve into a bowl. Let it cool to room temperature before serving. #Recipe #cooking #foodtiktok #homemade #EasyRecipes #DinnerIdeas #mealprep Save this for later!
