if it opens into your bathroom as well - that vent is not for heat/AC. It is a pass through vent to help move air and condensation out of the bathroom. Typically there are no actual heat/ac vents above doors since they need the conduit to run the furnace to the vent.

that's not a vent, it's probably a return. if you sleep with your door closed like me, it essentially just sucks all the heat out of the room

in my house, cold air return vents(circulates cooler air back to the furnace) are near the cieling and heat/ac vents are on the floor. Maybe you covered up a vent with Maybe a dresser or your bed?

the other comment about a pass through vent is pretty likely. however, I've seen landlords do some crazy bs with HVAC stuff. so, I say post a video of the vent and what your heaters look like if you don't trust building maintenance

Try closing the vent in your bathroom, and leave open your vent in the bedroom.. See if this helps 😊
