not once have I seen a law stop a single thing this administration wants to do. No one is going to stop him. We have all witnessed that the checks and balances is just an honor system and nothing more.

Another reason I think it’s unlikely: it’s legally simpler for Trump to invoke the Insurrection Act rather than martial law because the latter would require Congress. We know Trump has wanted to invoke the Insurrection Act several times over the years, and his advisors have always convinced him not to. I think the fact that he’s listened to them on this issue means something.

vet here, if he invokes the insurrection act he will try to stop the midterms from happening the reason the hes not listening to the courts is cuz the institutions are unable to enforce the laws due to no way to enforce the law. you are definitely in the minority opinion here he will try to stop the election.

Hi from snowy NJ. ❄️The Constitution doesn't allow the president to cancel or move elections. Do I trust him not to try? Absolutely not! I do still have faith in Congress and our courts to uphold our Constitutional right to vote. We’ve survived wars, pandemics, and national crises without canceling elections. Martial law does not magically erase the Constitution. We are living in scary times. And I don’t feel safe either. But this is exactly when we hold the line. Know your rights. Stay informed.
