It can be triggered by simple actions like chewing, talking, brushing teeth, or even touching the face. This happens when the trigeminal nerve, which carries sensation from the face to the brain, gets irritated or compressed, often by a blood vessel. The pain comes in short attacks but can be extremely intense and distressing. Treatment may include medicines to control nerve pain.
