These work great to store 7018 rods. I’ve never noticed a difference when using 7018 from an oven or straight out of the box. In my career mine still all passed X-ray

I been storing 7018 8018 11018 in plastic containers for years and never had an issue. I have 11018 that's over 20 years old and it welds like new. I suggest plastic containers for 7018 .

Yes, you can store 7018 welding rods in a plastic sealed container, such as specialized plastic welding rod canisters with screw-on lids or vacuum-sealed bags, to protect them from atmospheric moisture. For best results, add desiccant packs to the container to absorb any trapped moisture. This method is suitable for hobbyists or non-critical applications, but not for code-certified work.
