@bullmastiffbrothe: Hi friends, I wanted to hop on and give another update on Alfred. We had his follow-up vet appointment yesterday, and unfortunately the steroid and the antibiotic didn’t help. His nosebleeds have actually been getting a little worse, and now his liver enzymes have come back elevated. At this point, the vet is concerned that Alfred may have a mass in his nasal cavity, which could be what’s causing the bleeding. The next step is a CT scan so we can figure out exactly what’s going on and how to help him. The hard part is that CT scans for dogs cost anywhere between $3,000 and $6,000, so we did end up starting a GoFundMe to try to raise the money he needs to get this scan done. I am also working really hard behind the scenes—calling around, looking into grants, and searching for clinics that may offer lower-cost imaging. If anyone in the Michigan or Ohio area knows of places that do CT scans for dogs, please comment or message me. Any recommendations would mean so much. This is not the news we wanted, we are heart broken and trying really hard to get this sweet boy some help.
