I’m still trying to find someone that can pull the inline 6 in my 37 Plymouth coupe and figure out if I got a stuck piston ring or something cause it’s getting fuel and spark and it’ll crank and crank then it still won’t run. I can’t figure it out

I tore apart a Packard straight 8 327 Thunderbolt and found a scraper with a wooden handle in the pan. One side of the scraper blade was sharpened. One side of the wooden handle was broken off. It was the tool they used to slice the rope rear main seal when the engine was originally assembled. That scraper was in there for 40 years.

Friends dad bought a 65 Chevy from a car auction. Pulled the engine and the oil pan was packed with rags. He said that was to quiet the knocking rod!
