@conversationswithevan: This is how those 12-24 secret words that secure your crypto are generated and why you can’t pick your own seed phrase. How is cryptocurrency secure? Watch to learn! — #learn #crypto #cryptocurrency #cryptography #seedphrase
Can you move from one cold wallet to another? Like if I don’t like the one I have can I move my crypto to another cold wallet?

Good info. Also the BIP39 format can be used to derive many wallets on many different blockchains from one key. It’s a great system.

Fun fact. Because Bitcoin addresses are 2^160 there is a non-zero chance that you can generate multiple keys which can control the same funds. So chances of generating keys that control funds are 10^48, still vastly large number. This is known as the pidgeonhole effect.

stablecoins are making banks money...why would they trade for speed such as xrp.. Banks are most likely going to win the clarity act battle. Coinbase can't control that. The whole banking system? What then..we all get robbed?

It's technically possible to pick your own words. Though the last word can only be a select few (it's checksummed in technical terms). However picking your own as a human is bad. Using dice, card decks or other means are possible though.

So if they are randomly generated, its possible to be replicated isnt it?...purely by accident?...Or is each combination removed from availability after being selected

🦆Duck🦆 :
you can perfectly generate a wallet picking random words even if the bip39 checksum is wrong you can still manually decode it into a usable private key doing so would actually be more secure over using standard bip39 because it will reject your key so it won’t even reconstruct the key unless you ignore the checksum 👍
