As mush as I love Terrifier and that Art has become an icon I do wish that the Terrifier franchise stayed as a niche cult movie for the people who like cartoonish gore. Also Damien Leone gives me weird vibes. Not bad vibes but the kinda vibes of someone who is a pretty cool person most of the time but will occasionally say/do something thats side eye worthy

My controversial horror opinion is that there are more crap horror films than good ones. The genre is quite overrated to be honest and i love horror films.

Couldn't agree more about Ari Aster he's so incredibly overrated 😂 My hot take is TCM 74' doesn't hold up and Hitcher, Cook and Franklin are 3 of the most annoying characters ever put on film 🤷 my distain for them instantly takes all tension away from that film

ok. agreed with your takes until Alien. The issue is you are watching it as entertainment (which you should ofc) whereas it is more directly art. I sound snotty but there are numerous layers of reading Alien. Every frame is artistically crafted. It is layered with symbolic meaning. The horror works on numerous levels. You should also take into account the period it was made, the other films at the time and how Alien set a completely new template for movies. The role of the ships computer 'mother' automatically starting up to divert the Nostromo is SO atmospheric. Almost everything in Alien is 'never seen before' moments. aaargh I'm ranting lol sorry.
