i’m a writer in my early 20s and i’ve had to face the fact that no matter what i write, i will always be wrong to someone. i’ve wanted to defend myself on many occasions but these people are dead set on misunderstanding you and construing your words to make you sound incompetent. sigh

There’s also the people who seek you out, may even get close to you, because they see you as someone who they can gain something from. When they don’t get what they want, they turn on you and will try to cause all kinds of havoc.

yesss this is so true. if they’re strangers I truly don’t care, but what makes me uncomfortable is when it’s distant friends/acquaintances, coworkers, etc like people who know you in real life.. I have a much harder time dealing with that. but I guess I have no control over it
