You’re a neurosurgeon, so you can definitely afford to take Ubers. I don’t think it’s crazy, I think it’s safer. Driving is dangerous even for people that are not performing brain surgery after midnight.

Took an uber around for 7 years while my epilpesy was severely medically refractory! Now that I’ve been operated on by an AMAZING NEUROSURGEON, I finally have the privilege to drive myself around again 🙏

As a lawyer that question didn’t even cross my mind 😅. Most logical way to travel when taking our hourly fees into account. It’s cheaper to sit back sit working for 30min than behind the wheel. Also buying and maintaining a car costs crazy! Chicago has winter as has in Finland so let’s just enjoy the ride. 🤗

I read a report one time that doctor's, specifically surgeons, have high car insurance costs because it is so common for them to get into accidents and one leading cause of falling asleep at the wheel.

I actually think it’s smart and responsible. And to your point, you can write your OP notes while traveling rather than doing during your PJ time which is typically what happens. Very efficient. Thank you for all you do to care for your patients. 🙏
