Thousands of years ago, volcanic explosions made the iconic Blue Lake (which turns insanely blue in summer). Around it, limestone slowly dissolved and collapsed, leaving sinkholes and crystal-clear water holes you can actually snorkel in. I grew up there, from birth to 21. It was amazing as a kid and a teenager. Unfortunately, I barely recognise it anymore at nearly 30. There are still beautiful parts to it, lots of heritage buildings and long standing family businesses. It’s a shame that some of the people have decreased in quality. I do hope the beautiful parts remain untouched for future generations.

I’ve been to Mt g a few times, it is a gorgeous places. To describe the town is definitely something coming from the city it’s an absolute perfect mix of a city while having its county charm and definitely still has so much history while growing and some places becoming new making it a beautiful mix of old and new and all the sink holes r beautiful. The gardens the swimming and walking around them is beautiful

I was always told it was mining holes from mining and when they closed the mine by the time the water filled it up. I’ve actually swam there
