Shawn,actually I'm looking forward for ex-president to be caught and brought in to court,not specifically which one but Indonesia has to be able to get ex-president responsible.traditionally Indonesian ex- president is untouchable,unlikely to South Korean ex-presidents.most of them jailed after their post presidencies

the golden age for kpk was under abraham samad. After that, it went downhill due to concerted efforts from executive and legislative branch to weaken it. This year, corruption gets worse again.

KPK existed because there werent any civil society organizations that fight corruption. To this day theres barely any civil society organizations that actively try to prosecute corruption, perhaps Boyaimin is a standout. This is because lawyers are mostly just as complicit in corruption and fighting it might well be fighting a battle against your own old friends from law school.

the reason it got revised beacuse. the creator party afraid it's going to after them with HM Cases etc. at first it protected them from everyone else party. after they got loses power. KPK has more freedoms to do something. until it was 2019, they hold power in lawmakers. they hurry up the process.

The law revision happened under the rule of Joko Widodo, which is the president who revised the rules of presidential candidacy (because people under the age of 40 cannot run for president or vice president). That allows his young son (38 years old) to participate as vice president. It's nepotism at it's finest😳
