I was heavily pregnant on the train in London and a woman was on a work call in the priority seat. An elderly woman opposite offered to stand and I said no. The other woman noticed and literally said ‘I need this seat for my call’. I just said don’t worry about it, I don’t want any issues. My back was killing though and I was about to drop. It’s not entitlement, sometimes it’s a genuine need. Some people clearly lack compassion in this comment section. Do better.

british society hates children and women who carry children. as a society, we view children and pregnant women as an inconvenience, and it becomes so much clearer that this is true when you compare how kids/pregnancy/birth/postpartum/women are treated here vs in other parts of the world 😭

my priority seats where i'm from don't say for pregnant women this is what i was meaning. i didn't realise yours did haha. my priority seats are for elderly, and disabled. if i knew being pregnant meant i could sit down in priority seats i would def take the seat! i'm afraid my comment came across wrong for everyone. but i have empathy for other pregnant women, ive been there 3 times and wow its rough!! x

I remember watching that video and reading all the comments and was so shocked! Tbh in the first trimester I had to sit down (I had such nausea!!) and I was working at Harrods so I was on the tube every single day. Most of the time there were no seats (rush hour) and it was so difficult. Back then mostly people offered a seat as I had the “Baby on board badge”. But there were times when people just pretended not to notice.. it’s wild. There was this one situation when I was about 6 months pregnant and going to Harrods and a girl sat in the “priority” seat and had her luggage in front of her and I kindly asked if I could have the seat. She was refusing because she had a luggage. I was honestly shocked 😂 The thing is some people are just that way… and it says everything about them. I insisted that I need to sit down and people around even said to her to give me the seat lol 😂 I just want to say there is special place in hell for some people 😂 haha

Girl I’m 24 weeks and I always need to sit!!! I’ve got a big bump which is very noticeable and a lot of the time people genuinely just get up without me even having to ask it’s so normal to let a pregnant women sit down!! Every pregnancy is different some may not be tired others may be extremely tired.

A lot of men have lost respect, some women now see having children as unfeminist, some mothers see pregnancy as a competition and if they didn’t need it then no one should in their eyes, so all in all we’ve just lost humanity
