He said: “Can I ask what you do?” And once he found out I coach sales he said “rate me. How’d I do?” This was the sales manager. The rest of my evening at the dealership ended up being sales coaching between him and the man in finance. Here’s what I told them that I hope helps you too: 3 sales lessons… 💵 Sales is about value. You keep leading with features of the car I couldn’t care less about. Talk to me about what means something to me, in a language I actually understand. If I’m asking “and what does that mean” — you’re going to lose the sale, because most people will just nod and move on. ✨ People look to an expert for one main thing, to borrow your certainty. Example: I told the salesman that I go to the horse ranch 4-6x a week, so I need a car that can handle that. He should’ve pulled his phone out as soon as he walked away and researched how this car would be the best fit for exactly that. Transfer CERTAINTY always, at every chance you get. 💋 lean OUT a little. Please for the love stop obsessing over their transformation more than THEY DO. Guess what happens when you do? They’ll never show up and do the work that’s actually required to get results. They’ll expect hand-holding. Give them their agency. Show the payoff and let them move towards it, don’t try to make the decision for them. Selling is the best thing you can do for THEM, so they can actually get skin in the game and get results. I’ve built a multi-million dollar business as a mom, home full time. With one team member and no ads. If I can make what I used to in a YEAR, in a single month? Nothing says you can’t. 💋
