The place they weee dropped on didn’t matter. The reason I believe is because it was a show of a new bomb to open their eyes to what the USA could do with 2 bombs alone & less causality. Those two bombs killed over 100k people in a smaller city. Now imagine if we dropped it in the center of their capital….? It would have killed millions of people due to population differences. I can guarantee if they didn’t surrender from those two bombs, the capital would’ve been close to the next target and the entire military branch and arm of their military would be absolutely obliterated. It was about a huge show of power banking on the effects of the two bombs. Smart move IMO
