The comments saying enemies to lovers as if it’s overdone. They just haven’t read more books outside of the YA umbrella

Dual pov’s that switch each chapter and also massively, revealing the MMC’s feelings through his pov right away before he even shows a sprinkle of it through the FMC’s pov 😭 I lose interest/the tension is loosened massively when that happens and I dnf more than not

I’m sorry, but like a lot of critically acclaimed authors always have a backstory in their books that I REALLY dgaf about… I feel like I’m just impatient, but I’m just used to authors knowing the one rule almost every author knows, and only backstory dumping by using implications..

i feel like what is super important is to not push yourself so the writing feels like it came from a passionate person and everything in the book matters it’s not just meaningless letters

If it’s a dystopian novel or a war-based one, there shouldnt be a main character who can’t kill for no reason! (Imho)

A enemies to lovers that takes to long to get to the plot or it be a very suttle romance

boring/repetitive characters.
For example, I feel like the strong female character is so overused and like i loved it at first but I see it in every book and it just gets boring, I don't care if you wanna write a strong female character but give her something else aside from just being strong or a pretty face

For me it has to be if a character as powers or is the chosen one and their only way of being normal is to die, give up their powers or disappear. So disappointing
