Dental hygienist here who works for a cosmetic trained dentist. Sometimes veneers are the best option for the patient depending on their situation. In your situation I think cosmetic bonding is best🫶 it won’t last as long but it’s something you can change/alter and is much less damaging to gums and teeth! Only veneer pro is how strong they are and how long they will last… Also your bonding work is beautiful!

3rd year dental student & Hear me out!! Go to a prosthodontist not a “cosmetic dentist”, because they specialize in all things cosmetic and did 3 extra years of school for it and are listened! A “cosmetic dentist” is a general dentist who took extra courses to learn deeper. Also, you need crown lengthening, not a gum lift/gingivectomy. The gum tissue always matches the bone level, and the only way to permanently correct that is to get crown lengthening to reduce the bone!! Hope this helps ❤️

I worked for a cosmetic dentist for 14 years, who did beautiful work… veneers will NEVER feel like your natural teeth, they will always be sensitive and they will change the way you eat, etc. your teeth now are beautiful and perfect for your face. I would not switch to veneers, if I were you.

As someone who had porcelain veneers done (by a cosmetic dentist) on a few of my teeth I VERY much regret it!! They have to shave down your natural teeth so there’s no going back even if it’s minimal shaving. I miss my natural teeth

My whole life I wanted veneers, but I instead did composite bonding too. I now have learned to love that my teeth still have some character vs being absolutely perfect. Veneers can be beautiful but any dentist I have been to says if you have healthy teeth to not touch them. You’re beautiful either way!✨🤩

The bonding looks amazing! I wouldn’t touch your teeth unless it’s absolutely needed. I work in the dental field and we always recommend for people to keep their natural teeth BUT if you really want veneers ask them to do a wax up to see what they would look like with veneers. Please go to different cosmetic dentists and ask to see before and after pics. A dentist I used to work for is GD and he did his wife’s veneers and they looked amazing!! (It’s cheaper here where I live).

There is a famous tik toker on this app who is so incredibly gorgeous to me and she got them done..and they don’t look great and have affected her looks imo..I’m not saying who it was because that’s just so mean but please you are one of the most gorgeous people I’ve ever seen 😭 keep your teeth! ❤️❤️

I’m at hygienist and the biggest thing is that you’re going to have to keep up with them. Like at some point in your life. Maybe even twice more you’ll have to replace multiple if not all of them bc they’re not going to last a lifetime

I am a periodontist assistant and have been for the last 6 years. (We specialize in gums/periodontal disease/implants/etc) Your gum tissue continues to come down because the root of the problem is not addressed. You can think, gum tissue follows the bone. If you are not reconctouring the underlying bone, the gum will continue to follow it down. It’s a procedure called crown lengthening- one of the easiest procedures we do and definitely not as invasive as it may sound. I highly suggest doing that if your gums are what bothers you instead of all crowns!
