I think that’s great! I didn’t know how important 5 stars was until I saw you explain it. In my mind 4 stars is great and 5 is just exceptional… I went to an Airbnb once and the host called me thrice after to ask me for a 5 star review, or to not write one at all

Fridge died before we got there. Host ordered one but it wouldn’t be delivered while we were there. WE bought a couple of styrofoam coolers (like $3.99) for creamer and beer. He tried to charge us for the coolers and was INSANELY snarky about it. He didn’t get 5.

People are too obsessed with trying to “teach others a lesson” about how nothing is perfect, blah blah blah. Just drop the ego and hit the 5 unless you had a true bad experience. Keep teaching lessons to your kids.

Unless my stay is HORRID and the host refuses to help at all, then I’ll do 4 stars. But I always give 5 stars because we are all human just chilling on a floating rock 🤣

we got a review that the "kitchen made no sense" and she messaged that it was weird we had an air fryer there? she also was disappointed that we only supplied her with 3 dish towels for her 2 night stay and requested 12 🫠🫠🫠

Seems like the rating system with Airbnb is the same as the rating system on DoorDash. Four stars lower our rating and our stats depend on our status as well

I always do a 5 star. It would have to be horrible for less than that rating. We had a minor repair to the fence gate at one we stayed at in Montana. The homeowner promptly fixed it and we moved on. I have 5 star and never mentioned the repair.

We stayed at a beautiful Airbnb. And I usually always give 5 stars. BUT they lacked so much - I had asked the host for the code and she said to check back 2 hours before check in, well she didn’t send it until 30 minutes past check in and we had our dogs so we just had to chill in the car. Also the kitchen dish soap was completely empty, no hot pads, or kitchen towels. I felt like having to drive and buy those things was odd

It wasn’t until I started watching your content where I realized this is the reality. So I worry that others may also have doubts and think it’s as a manipulation tactic

That’s good to know. I just stayed in my first air bnb and I almost did 4 stars in a couple places because there was room to be better but I ended up doing 5 which I am happy I did now
