The truth is that this behavior is indeed linked to a malfunction of its internal compass, but it is interesting to turn it into an existential metaphor! From a certain point of view, it could mean that even when we are lost in our lives, without a concrete goal, we still need to keep moving forward, to stay active, and not remain stuck in a destructive comfort, even if that means walking alone. The simple act of moving forward and walking toward something with no future can take on meaning and become significant.
