@excel_with_kyle: Here is the #1 reason why you should use XLOOKUP or INDEX MATCH if you are still using VLOOKUP in Excel! The 3 main lookup functions are: XLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH, and VLOOKUP. In my opinion, VLOOKUP is by far the worst choice of the 3 for many reasons (I have lots more videos coming soon on all the reasons), but the main reason is that VLOOKUP can't return values to the left of your lookup array, which XLOOKUP and INDEX MATCH can #exceltips #dataanalytics #businessgrowth #spreadsheet #corporatelife #financetips #worksmarternotharder
You can index the entire table and using 2 match formulas and can copy the formula to different columns and get the value having to never make another formula again. Index match is superior at the end of the day.

Can’t you just use a negative column selection? I mean, I don’t use vlookup, but still….

Love xlookup; watching my cfo use vlookup and asked him if he is familiar with Xlookup. He grumbled and I shrugged my shoulders. Okay do it the hard way. 😂😂😂

But can you use {2,3} feature in vlookup? That feature saves us from typing 2 or more formulas What do you think?

I used to use the look up to determine the quality of the candidate being hired. If they didn’t know how to use index match, I knew they were limited.

You could use xlookup within the choosecols command and you would have to repeat it, no?

A single xlookup can actually return more than 1 column. Xlookup and filter function is the life saver
