We would rather have fixed outside cats that are fed and taken care of then shelter cats who are depressed and will probably be put down. Our whole neighborhood love all the cats every single one of them have cat food put out an extra heated shelters.

No literally, I found this cat a few weeks ago on a very busy street, got ahold of the owner and she was like "oh he never wanders that far he knows to only stay in our yard" yeah ok lady

1 he always comes back or finds shelter during storms to the point where everyone in the neighborhood knows him 2 as soon as the door opens he runs out and has clawed out window screens to get out… i’m not going to let my cat be miserable and mad at me nor am i going to have him get hurt trying to escape the house i’d rather just let him out knowing he’ll come back

Period. And when they post about the loss of their pet for sympathy and I see people being like “I’m so sorry for your loss” when their pet got eaten by a coyote or ran over. My natural instinct is sympathy for the pet that wasn’t kept safe. Not the owner who knows the dangers outside and continues to risk their pets life. The owner deserves a reality check not sympathy.

We had a cat die in our yard. We had no idea where it was from. We’d seen it a couple of times. By the time the owner finally figured out that the cat we were talking about was their cat they got really mad at us like somehow we trapped him in our yard that did not have a closed fence. No he came here to die in my mom‘s lovely garden, Helen because he knew you didn’t care about him
