I was a straight A student in high school. I remember taking every Thursday off my senior year because I wanted a break I didn’t need to be in class every day. I did the same thing in college and was on the deans list every semester. I allowed my daughters to take time off. They were straight-A students as well. I knew what worked for me they knew what worked for them with guidance and some structure.

I never wrote papers to the page or word count minimum in college. I decided that the most important thing was that I had all of the information in the paper, and I wrote until I was done writing. I got A’s on all of those papers and the professors never said anything to me about them, even if I turned in half the “required” page or word count. Just decide.

I went camping at the end of a work day so I could wake up and have coffee by the lake. I made up classes in high school. I didn't have health insurance in my 30s. Didn't get married till I was 40. Never had kids. Worked for myself since I was 30. Started painting at 54 and sold paintings for $. I think of life according to me cuz I'm the one who's making it up. I'm the one who will live and die with my decisions. In fact, I'm creating everything as the consciousness in the quantum field so everything is pure possibility. I'm here to play

those made up pathways are typically (if not all) are corporate/business driven. it keeps THEIR kids tuition paid + on a yacht, while employees build THEIR dreams

I quit a job and gave a weeks notice. My boss told me I'd never get another job and was shocked when I told her I was starting my new job and they were giving me twice the pay. It still makes me chuckle.

So glad I found your page because yes!!! I'm learning in my mid 30s I really was doing what everyone said was "right" especially in my 20s. Now I'm like fck this I'm gonna do what makes me happy

(For reasons that still don’t make sense to me to this day) in grad school I decided in addition to a full course load I should also do 2 internships — one paid and one unpaid. A month in I realized both internships were unsustainable, so I gave 2 weeks notice to the unpaid one. And the manager had the audacity to say I would stay on for however long it took for them to figure things out. Again, this was UNPAID. So I respectfully left and never returned.

In high school I refused to do homework for classes where I understand the subject. Some teachers I suffered lesser grades but in the beginning of the quarter I would calculate what test scores I needed to maximize after school fun and making money.
