I got veneers 25 years ago for dentinogenesis imperfecta, before they were common. At the time, they felt life-changing—I finally smiled with confidence. Now, almost every tooth has needed a root canal and been replaced with a crown, and they’re decaying underneath. My dentist is pushing for full extraction and implants, which I can’t afford. I really wish I had known the long-term consequences.
