@kateconfrontscancer2: 19th Jan. VAD set, signed, and delivered. These things should be discussed even if it makes you uncomfortable. I watched by mother die and it was bloody traumatic. To watch 5 of the last days were utterly unnecessary and cruel. Anyhow each to their own with respect. #fyp #pancreaticcancer #terminalcancer #6monthterminal #VAD

A friend of mine has recently use his VAD. It was beautifully performed, in the garden, surrounded by family loved ones, on a gorgeous day. His life, his rules. I loved this for him.

I'm on these hard parts now too. I decided after this last chemo I'm done. My last treatment was brutal. I'm not giving up I just chose quality of life now not quainty. I hope to get 6 more months without chemo but idk if I will. ♥

A lovely friend of mine who was greatly suffering with her terminal illness had VAD in Auckland last year and her family were grateful that she could end her life on her own terms reducing the suffering . Her family were all with her and her daughter said she was happy and beautifully peaceful.

I think it is nice to have control of a part of what you are going through. Surrounded by family, go out on your terms and everything organised xxx

My wife just did this in October and it was the perfect thing for her as she was getting worse with her cancer. It’s a great option I believe

My mothers opted for VAD in April 2025. Very dignified process and humanely way of parting earth side. Thoughts are with you & your loved ones

I love that we now have dying with dignity in Aus. I'm so fucking happy for you that you can make this choice, and with all your loved ones. I watched my dad go in hospice in 21 from terminal oesophageal cancer, and I wished they'd passed the law back then. I send you and your family all the love from Brissy 💚

You are amazing! It will be 28 years tomorrow since my mum passed. I had my first baby two weeks later. I watched her in cruel awful pain for 6 months while I was pregnant! I have PTSD from it and it has shaped my life. I love what you are doing and owning it! We didn’t have that opportunity. Love to you xxx
