around 2012 was when the Aus Gov brought in 'alco pop' tax on premixed drinks like cruisers etc. and started increasing tax on sales of alcohol in general. This lead to a massive culture shift more towards pre drinking before clubbing to save money. By the time people got to clubs they were already half cut and would only by a drink or 2. Clubs could barely stay open and pay overheads let alone pay for artists. It's gotten that extreme now only the rich can afford to go for a few schooners. Aus Gov is still ruining the hospitality industry
