@emily_infocus: Cataracts happen when the natural lens of your eye becomes cloudy, making vision blurry, hazy or washed out. In the US, the average age for cataract surgery is 72. When I was diagnosed in my 30s, there were very few resources for people my age. I've struggled with my vision since childhood. I have severe myopia (-12.50 both eyes) and astigmatism. When my eyesight started to blur and cloud, I believed my eyes were failing beyond repair. Learning that I had cataracts in both eyes was scary for me, but now I had some options. I've made the decision to move forward with surgery.
