Why are the Straps Upside Down? 🙃 This is what’s called a Single Foldover Deployant Buckle. Deployant also means foldover in French. These single foldover deployant buckles / clasps simulate the clasp on a metal watch bracelet. Meaning that you can open and close without fear of dropping your watch and also it puts less wear on your strap because you aren’t removing and putting a pin in the strap every day. Now, even if you flipped these straps, the normal way, it might look normal, but the clap would open away from you, which is awkward and it wouldn’t sit comfortably on your wrist. I always see this question whenever the straps are laying flat, but if they’re wrapped around the wrist or a watch roll, most people don’t even notice it.
