@racheljdillon: I’ll always be an advocate for moving your body through pregnancy. I recognise that not everyone has the same experience, ability, or circumstances to do so and that’s also okay. I am very blessed to have support and be able to prioritise movement. Please know every journey is different and I am just sharing my personal experience in hopes that it can remove some of the fear around moving your body through pregnancy if you are able to. For me, maintaining strength through weight training during pregnancy was about supporting my body for what was ahead. What so many people don’t realise is how much strength training before and during pregnancy can support your body in recovery. It helps maintain posture, mobility, and core stability, supports joint health, and even strengthens your mindset and energy as your body changes. Every session was preparing my body to recover, rebuild, and return feeling strong. If you have the ability and clearance to train, move with intention, listen to your body, and know that strength training can be one of the best investments you make in your postpartum recovery.
