I cried through the entirety of Episode 16, and I’m still crying as I write this. 😭 ⠀ I went into the finale carrying a ridiculous mixture of excitement, trepidation, sadness, anticipation, and hope—and somehow came out the other side feeling nothing but relief, gratitude, and an overwhelming sense of fulfillment. ⠀ Because what a finale. ⠀ Every loose end was tied. Every question was answered. Every lingering worry was finally put to rest. Perhaps not everything unfolded exactly as we imagined or hoped it would, but by the time the credits rolled, there was that deeply satisfying feeling of a story having been told exactly as it needed to be told. ⠀ It felt complete. ⠀ And then they gave us a wedding. ⠀ A WEDDING!!!😭😭😭 ⠀ In Chinese BL, where even acknowledging the permanence and legitimacy of a same-sex relationship can be fraught, ending this story with something as unequivocal as a wedding felt almost revolutionary. I could not be prouder of Zelia laoshi and her entire team for giving us that beautiful full-circle moment—a quiet but unmistakable FU to censorship and to the persistent insistence that LGBTQIA+ love, lives, and rights can simply be erased or treated as though they don't matter. ⠀ The courage of our beloved characters seemed to transcend the boundaries of the story itself. ⠀ After all the tragedy, uncertainty, pain, suffering, separation, and tears, to give us a wedding at the end of it all felt like a balm to the soul. It felt like a promise: ⠀ If you are brave enough to hold on, steadfast enough to keep believing, and strong enough to survive the darkest winter, there can still be something beautiful waiting for you when spring finally comes. ⠀ And I especially appreciated the words of affirmation they received from the people who loved them—both those still living and those who had already passed on. ⠀ I was already an emotional wreck, but hearing QingTian’s teasing voice and Lan Jie’s calm, loving blessing completely finished me. 😭😭😭 ⠀ It was as if the people who had shaped their lives were finally giving them permission to stop fighting, stop running, and simply be happy. ⠀ So, first and foremost, thank you to Zelia laoshi and her incredible team—the writers, directors, crew, production staff, and everyone behind the scenes who poured so much work and love into this story. ⠀ Thank you to the amazing supporting cast who gave this world so much depth and made every character feel alive. ⠀ And most of all, my deepest love and gratitude to Liu JingYu and Xiong YiWen for giving us Xu ChangYang and Feng QingLang🙏🙏🙏 ⠀ I fell so deeply in love with these two characters that, for the past two months, I have practically lived and breathed this series. They followed me into my waking hours and my dreams; they occupied my thoughts long after an episode ended and made me look at scenes again and again, searching for all the little meanings hidden beneath the surface. ⠀ So thank you, JingYu and YiWen. ⠀ Thank you for bringing my love for the written word back to life. ⠀ You will probably never know just how much of an impact Xu ChangYang and Feng QingLang—and the people who brought them to life—have had on my mind, my heart, and my soul. ⠀ There is something extraordinary about a beautifully told story. ⠀ Sometimes, it is simply entertainment. ⠀ But sometimes, a story reaches into you, rearranges something, and reminds you of things you had forgotten. ⠀ It can make you believe in love again. ⠀ In sacrifice. ⠀ In devotion. ⠀ In the possibility of finding your way home. Until we meet again!❤️ #AWinterSunWakestheWindinSpringHillsDream #寒阳风起春山境 #XiongYiwen #LiuJingyu
