@lifewiththemckennas: Finally got some results for Ottie and had an unexpected hospital visit. #newbornbaby #mumsoftiktok #postpartum #iugrbaby #prematurebaby
my son is 13 this year and he was diagnosed with his condition last year. it's a new condition and rare at the moment, so rare it doesn't even have a name just letters and numbers. there is a boy in America who looks so similar to my son who is also diagnosed. there is a fabulous Facebook group called SWAN (syndromes without a name) for children who have had genetic testing and haven't found an answer.

The fear of the unknown is quite a scary thing. She’s a sweet beautiful baby. Keep up the good work, Momma 🎀

Have you joined SWAN UK? My son has an undiagnosed genetic condition and it's so helpful to be among people who get it.

I have a medically complex Dx. It took decades to get answers. There is grief in hearing, “it’s not this.” Not because I wanted it to be a specific Dx but because it would have been the end of the search and the beginning of appropriate support. Your feelings are valid. I hope you find answers soon. Much love. 💜

Let me just remind you that YOU are doing so well too. Motherhood is no easy gig, even in the most straightforward of circumstances. Your strength, and your bond with your beautiful girl are both so visible in this video 🤍💖 hoping you get the answers you deserve, soon.

Just to provide a little reassurance, this is such a normal response! A known certainty, no matter how awful that certainty is, often feels more ‘containing’ than an unknown. Hoping you and sweet bubba get answers soon! 🤍

You’re approaching this really well, imho. Realistic. Honest. Seeking out and relying on support. When my kids were little there was no genetic testing. Often the ‘answer’ was ‘global delay’. You ended up just addressing any symptoms in separate clinics and specialties.

My son has a rare genetic disease. He was about 6 when we started suspecting something. It took a year and a half to finally get answers. The waiting is always the hardest part. I'll pray for your family. Keep up the positive spirit, you're doing wonderful.

Have they not talked you about full genome sequencing? We joined lots of groups thinking our son had OI and he definitely showed a lot those symptoms but he had so many other issues and the tests always came back negative. He got diagnosed with NBAS at 10 years, it was such a relief to finally get a diagnosis. Xx
