My dad married my mom, an immigrant and had three brown daughters. He raised us fairly liberal but after divorcing my mom he married a white Republican and He’s now a MAGA. He stands firm in his bigoted beliefs knowing that I have to carry my passport every day incase ice stops me simply because I’m not white. It’s wild to me how brainwashed he’s become.

"this is the goal" made me immediately think of something a teacher said to me when studying 1984. That the majority weren't trapped but we're where they wanted the world to be and hownthey wanted it to be. Changed how I viewed the book, and the world. 😩

Reminder that your experience with this one person doesn’t mean that’s how they all are. Just like not every democrat is terrible but some are. Republicans come in different colors, different genders, gay, straight etc. The media is doing a great job with you I’ll say that. my in-laws are permanently disabled and live off of SSI. They love Trump, even now after their medication 5x in price and their at risk for loosing their house, they dont see the parallels that even though their white and avid supporter, their the exact people this administration wants gone. And at this point I dont think they can see past their racism, its a full on cult.
