None of these were designed for sewing, but I reach for them again and again. ✂️ Lighter: Seals elastic ends to stop fraying, you can also seal synthetic thread ends when hand sewing. ✂️ Hair straightener: Perfect for pressing multiple straps at once, and getting into areas a normal iron can’t reach. ✂️ Straw + straw cleaner: My favourite method for turning close-ended straps inside out. Slide the fabric over the straw, and push the straw opening inwards with the straw cleaner, now pull the fabric and voila! ✂️ Tape: Extends your seam allowance guide when your machine plate doesn’t go far enough. Great for sewing wide hems, deep tucks, or anything over the standard markings. ✂️ Tweezers: For tucking in strap ends neatly, pulling fabric into corners, turning tiny details, and doing the fiddly work fingers struggle with. #teaganjacobs #sewingtools #sewingtips #sewingtricks #sewtok
