Got to do what you got to do, I’ve had to do it once on a true standing RIC cause ain’t no way I was going to fish that cap tube all the way to the evaporator coil.

Had to be a LG installer. and most True units have a channel inside for the heat exchanger

Spoke with tech support early in my career and this is how they advised me to run a new cap tube. They did say to put aluminum tape but still

I worked for Sears doing resi hvac and kitchen equipment then for Coca Cola and they both had us doing this.They as in our higher ups and some manufacturers. I sealed it up and secured it though. I went commercial kitchen repair and when I did this I was looked at like I had the plague. I learned then that’s not how they do kitchen repairs on commercial kitchen equipment. I haven’t done that in a very long time.
