This is the mindfuck of late stage capitalism. We have to constantly push against what we deem “productive”. Spending quality time with your baby and keeping baby alive and healthy IS productive and will matter more in the long run than doing that work assignment.

I am pregnant right now and I use to work out religiously, I have morning sickness and nausea pretty bad I’ve been struggling with not working out right now , makes me feel so lazy

Currently watching this as my 3 month old girl is napping on me… she rarely naps in her crib & if she does it’s only for about 20-30mins so contact naps are the norm for us… I totally relate to not feeling but then I remind myself that she doesn’t need the dishes being clean or counters wiped down, she needs good sleep & love and these contact naps are providing that 🥰

You just have to change your mindset! Dishes,laundry, etc can wait and you can never get the time back with your baby and time does go by SO FAST!!

I feel this. My mom came over to watch our son last week and I spent the hour she was holding him picking up stuff that needed to be done and I felt sooo productive, but keeping him alive is more important. That’s why having a village helps.

In the newborn stages I didn't get much done except caring for my child but now that she is a toddler I am 200% more productive because whenever I have the time I take advantage of it. Plus I teach my daughter those tasks at the same time. It's really just a phase and you won't get those times back so just soak it in and hold the baby all day while you can.
