I don’t know if this is a hot take but I feel like two things can be true. I think this was an amazing episode, arguably one of the best of the series. However I would be remiss if I didn’t point out that it feels like a completely different show. And it’s beginning to frustrate me that Harper, for the second season in a row feels like a supporting character in a show that was originally written for her. I’m interested to see how this season pans out for her.

Saying Yasmin is not fulfilling her function and bad at her job is a bit crazy. This is the most competent, productive, and aspirational we have ever seen her. She is a formidable force as Lady Muck, “engineering” - as Henry said - not only Henry’s position, but the Norton’s - getting Lord Norton and the Labour MP on the same page. She’s brilliant this season, professionally

This was one of the greatest episodes of tv i’ve seen. Sooo good. The whole way the costuming never felt ham-fisted and it felt so seemless yet unbounded by time. It was surreal and truly conveyed the similarities of the past with those of the present

I agree: Henry and Yas are terrible for each other and the last thing they need is a baby lol. But with all the repeating themes (funerals, mentions of terminating pregnancies, darkness and light, etc) did you feel like in the end the writers were saying that, like Yas calls out to Henry, it was this sort of poetic and tragic way to say maybe they were meant for each other? I took from the priest that essentially the “solution” for Henry was presence, even and perhaps in spite of, the darkness. It seems like eventually he realized he has to stay present in his life. And he hears Yas’ voice. And essentially swings into an up. They may never have arrived to the places they are without one another.
