It’s the career, you will grow, it’s hard. I am a top 1% and I stay burned out. It’s literally a toxic career. You have to love it not for the money.

Jasmine McAlpin | OK REALTOR :
Got my license in 2020. Failed miserably for the first year and a half. Took a transaction coordinating position in 2021 to keep the lights on. I felt sad and embarrassed to have to do that, but it turned out to be the best thing ever career. I got paid to learn how to write contracts and negotiate from one of the top agents in my state. I quit and started offering transaction coordinating services to independent agents, charging $500 per file. Within a year, I was making six figures in my tc business alone! Hired some help. Now I’ve been transitioning back into sales while my tc business is supporting me so I can grow my sales business organically without having to worry about money. I’m doing social media and open houses every Sunday because HATE cold calling! The past 3 months I’ve sold 1-2 houses a month, which may not sound like a lot, but it’s a lot for me considering where I started! All this to say, hang in there and see if you can find a way to get paid to learn. 🫶🏽

Once you’re established- you won’t need to find business, it will find you. You won’t be interviewing for listings as often, you’ll just be called to list. Don’t be the 80% - be determined to NOT be a statistic! First two years were slow for me 18&2019. Several years in a row I now close 30-45 a year. I never pay for leads, I never cold call, I never door knock ❤

i have no experience in this field but with everything going on right now and the past few years , only people who genuinely have it to spend are buying and building houses. we’re borderline in a recession, i feel it will get better as society/economy starts sitting on some money

90% of people quit in the first 2 years. If you can make it through then it will be smooth sailing!

It’s HARD! And I was slow for the first 2 years now finally it’s paying off. I did feel like a hamster in a wheel constantly thinking “what’s next” going in circles an I hate not being able to just be in the moment! So I did pick up a job so now I’m consistent with income regardless which is a huge relief because the job is very flexible. And now my hard work over the last two years has paid off, and I am seeing more with preapproved leads! Real estate is absolutely the long game. Hang in there keep working hard 💪🏾 you got this!

As you get more clients and close, you’ll get more referrals from those past clients plus people seeing you more experienced are more likely to refer you. My first year I only sold 4 homes. The next year I sold 11, then 22, 19, 24. You just have to stick it out and stay top of mind with your past clients & sphere.

You have to have a total mindset shift. You need to embody the person you want to be that has achieved the goals that you set for yourself. Start acting like that girl. Talk to people like that girl. Don’t focus on too many lead generation’s to “increase your luck”. Focus on the generation styles that you ENJOY doing and double down. Something will work. My first year it took me 6 months then closed 10 and second year I doubled my income.

You gotta be ready to work 13 hours a day, 7 days a week, for two years straight. People buy hundreds of homes a day and there is more business out there than any single person can handle ✅

Girl I left real estate to sell life insurance and crossed 6 figures my first year. I’m a broker with 30+ carriers, we have WARM leads so no cold calls people who are genuinely interested in insurance.
The ceiling is just higher in insurance. Fewer hands in the pot — no lenders, no title, no inspections, no buyers backing out last minute. You get paid faster and can work from anywhere.
I still invest in real estate (love it). Real estate brokering though? Different story.

Yes there is a breakthrough!! I didn’t get clients from social media until after a year of posting on Tik Tok. I just had to be super consistent and make it very clear in my bio how people can work with me. And your sphere will start reaching out when they’re ready to buy because they see you online constantly. It will randomly start to pick up I promise. I didn’t feel busy until this winter and it’s been 1.5y. Please don’t stop yet!!

1. Give yourself 16 months before you judge your process. 2. Remember at one point you prayed for this. 3. Take a day off each week. 4. Seek mentors who can help you elevate. 5. Learn the language of Real Estate to reinforce authority. 5. Work from a calendar & write down everything. 6. Learn to enjoy the hunt. 7. When things finally take off, DO NOT GET COMPLACENT. 8. Focus on value, not commission. The more valuable you become to the market place, the more opportunities will come knocking. 9. Pray, praise, journal, & workout daily. 10. Give yourself grace, everything is working out for your good in Jesus name!
