What-Ever-Will-You-Do :
They actually make a PVC tape for this exact purpose. It’s called zero clearance tape. It’s for miter saws and table saws. It actually works great. Not as good as a zero clearance insert for your saws, but it’s a lot cheaper.

This is a nice tip. However I am a framer and we use a speed square and skill saw. Simply to save time, but like I say this is a nice tip.😊

A real professional will know that the grille openings at the bottom of the blade guard allow you to look down the side of the blade to see exactly where it will hit your pencil mark.
