complain the an email to the CRTC. the complaint goes directly to telus, they will call you back in 24 hours. it's illegal for them to offer reductions for an increase in price only. then, when it's resolved. your telus account will have a complaint code on it, and they won't do it again.

I used to work for the big 3, the easiest/ hassle free way of getting a cheaper plan is to just switch to a different company. The best time to switch is on last 2 weeks of November, December and August

Just ask for retention department. They waive all those fees and if they don’t you leave to another provider.

I just found out it recently about the CRTC mandate of low cost plans. if you don't mind not having a lot of data (3 to 5 gigs) phone companies are required to offer plans with a cap of $35 a month unlimited Canada calling and texting with a minimum of 3 to 5 gigs. is mandated in July 2021, it also requires you to be able to switch to the plan at no cost.

You never have to pay any fee with a Canadian telecom company. If they don’t remove the fee after your first ask. Tell them you’re cancelling your service. It will magically be able to be removed as a “one time courtesy”

They offered my husband the same phone plan as mine except cheaper so i called them and asked for the same price and they refused. The phone plans in canada are a joke

I’ve switched 3 of 4 lines to Koodo and the Walmart phone counter does all the customer service work for free.

If you can switch and enjoy the Telus network, public mobile has been good for me. Same 5g, much lower cost. I got CAN/US 50gb for $35
