I could totally forgive Syd and Carmy not getting together, fine. But the turn the writing has taken is so egregious in its effort to lessen the importance of their connection. Like in the last season, the stupid table scene (with blackhole Claire of course) to reduce the emotionality of Syd/Carmys earlier table scene in season 2. AND Syds dad has a heart attack, she is ALONE in the hospital and they use Claire to comfort her just so Syd can be used as another tool to report how great Claire is?? These aren't the characters I fell in love with in the first seasons and the writing has suffered for it.

in s2 Claire calls Carmy The Bear in a close up shot, and we’re told it’s romantic. s4 Carmy calls Syd The Bear kn a close up shot and we’re told its not. it doesn’t make sense
