One of my professors asked me to write a recommendation letter for their tenure and I took that more seriously than my own thesis. They were the best professor I ever had so I made sure it was perfect. They ended up getting tenure thankfully 🙏🏼

More people need to understand, especially those who want to eliminate tenure, that if we don’t get tenure we get fired. It’s earn a promotion or get fired. The stakes are high.

I had a PhD committee member who failed to get tenure. That was crummy. I didn't realize he was up for tenure and at risk when I asked him to be on the committee. I chose my minor to work with him. Hmph!

One of my professors in undergrad found out she wasn't getting tenure, went home, and decided not to wake up the next day. Between her and a few other great professors the administration cut, graduation was like a funeral.
