Main (RGB/Luminance) Tone Curve
Controls brightness contrast only. It adjusts shadows, midtones, and highlights equally across all colors, so contrast changes without shifting hues or saturation.
Red, Green, Blue Curves
Control color-channel contrast. Each curve changes how strong that color is at different brightness levels, which affects color balance, saturation, and hue separation.
Why they’re different:
Even if you copy the same S-curve to R, G, and B, each channel already contains different image information, so the result changes color relationships, not just brightness.
