The salesman is 100% correct. MOST CUSTOMERS Will take those numbers the dealership sends and use it to every other dealer to get them to lower their price.

Tommi does this for a living, so of course he’s numb to all the negotiation games. Even if you don’t agree with him or don’t hire him, at least you’re learning how to plan a real strategy. Dealers know that once they get you inside, you’ll walk out with a car and a bad deal just to end the hassle. So I get why they refuse to give you a written offer over the phone.

Refusing to give numbers in writing is one thing but outright lying about why is an immediate turnoff. I wouldn't do business with them if they were the best deal in history. Zero trust=zero deal.

so they're afraid someone will take their numbers to another dealership to get a better deal and possibly lose the sale, but by refusing to send the numbers they are guaranteed to lose the sale 😔

Tbh I get where Tomi is coming from from but I’ve worked at 3 different dealers and I’ve never seen a deal change after a verbal commitment on the dealership unless the trade wasn’t in the condition it was supposed to be in. I do deals based on verbal commitments all the time. But that dealer is lying about not being able to send him numbers
