and don't be surprised if you get multiple bills, some even months later. there will be the hospital, the lab, the mri, the radiologist who read the mri results, the er, the er physician, the attending physician, the ambulance, etc. my second biggest complaint is the number of bills you get. Even routine procedures like a colonoscopy or mammogram generate multiple billings for everyone that even remotely had anything to do with the procedures (if memory serves i had 6 separate bills for the colonoscopy and 3 separate bills for the mammogram). everyone wants a piece of the pie and apparently its too difficult to send a single bill with all services in one document

Clearly most of the people responding have never been cash payers 🙄 average MRI in MI is $500-1200. Ambulance ride $300-$1k (if no meds given on the lower end) ER visit, $200-$1500. My guess the total would be around $5k, and that could be negotiated down.
